Hello. A. Bird here. Welcome to Ahem! (pronounced with guttural tones to signal that one is about to speak). I have no idea where this Substack will take us, but I thought I’d start with my present concerns.

It’s not a natural impulse of mine to “share,” and my experience with social media has been kinda no-nonsense, “here’s what I’m working on” variety, but when it comes to music, books, and bikes, I have a few thoughts and very few inhibitions about diving deep into the nuts ‘n’ bolts of the musical life.
